The site of the station is a small settlement of Baniban and is surrounded by housing, but of the station there are no standing remains of the structure. Local enquiries enabled the site to be located, a mound of rubble remains.
LXXXIV. Baniban Tower Station, lat. 22° 31', long. 88° 7'—observed at in 1848—is on an artificial mound in the village of that name; pargana Balia, district Hugli. The station, which is situated in a jhil, is only accessible during 3 months of the year.
The tower is 40 feet high and has markstones at top and bottom (from GTS Synopsis Volume 12, page 19).
